Lusangazi District was one of the targeted districts in OurPitch’s Dec. 2024 FAZ-E training initiative. The district, which had historically served as a refugee centre prior to becoming an independent district, remains significantly underdeveloped with very few facilities or opportunities for the youth.

Between 11th to 15th December 2024, OurPitch, in collaboration with the Ministry for Education, hosted a FAZ-E License training course for local school teachers/coaches. The program attracted 89 participants with some cycling over 40km to attend the course. Participants consisted of teachers from all nine zones in Lusangazi under the Ministry of Education as well as eleven female participants and sports teachers from the district’s six high schools.
